Goodwin Square was the last skyscraper built in Hartford between 1990 and 2006. It is designed in postmodern style, which is a response to the stark designs of modernism. Postmodern architectural style meshes old styles together and features more ornamentation than modernism. Architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill took inspiration from nearby Travelers Tower and incorporated elements into this building’s design.
Goodwin Square also includes the historic hotel and another office tower on Asylum.
